ESTABLISHED IN 1749

One of the East Coast's best kept gems in Old Town Alexandria. Old Town is recognized for its rich history and beautifully preserved 18th- and 19th-century homes on quiet streets densely built along tree-shaded blocks giving you that small-town feel.

The houses range from old and more historic-looking to well-maintained colonial row homes. The most prestigious homes are located in the southeast quadrant, and the new condos, apartments, and townhouses in the northeast quadrant of the neighborhood.

RESTAURANTS & BOUTIQUES

Old Town Alexandria is home to more than 200 independent restaurants, bars, and boutiques mixed in with historic museums and homes. King Street is particularly dense, home to high-end and low priced restaurants. The area also has its fair share of funky hangout spots focusing on high-quality beverages, such as the wine bar/wine store/coffee shops.

With so much more to come with the new waterfront renovations and additions, Old Town makes a great home base for your DC vacation and an even better place to live.

YEAR ROUND EVENTS

There are so many things to do in and around Old Town with both inside and outside activities throughout the day and night. Seasonal street fairs, parades and some of our local establishments offer live music, karaoke, shuffleboard, pool tables (my personal favorite) and so much more.

If you are up for more of a city vibe DC is just a short Uber ride or metro stop away. Or if you're up for a water taxi ride you can boart ferry at the waterfront to the Washington DC harbor the National Harbor or Mount Vernon.

CHARMING NEIGHBORHOODS

Old Town, Alexandria has 18th-century homes on quiet streets full of character and so much to see. Virtually all of Old Town is densely built with sidewalks along tree-shaded blocks, exuding an overarching small-town feel.

The home styles range from old and more historic than the well-maintained colonial homes. The most prestigious homes are located in the southeast quadrant and the condos and townhouses located in the northeast quadrant of Old Town where the new homes, condo, restaurants and shops are being built.

METRO | BUS | PARKING

There are two Metro stations, King Street on the South side and Braddock Road on the North side, both of which are on the Blue and Yellow lines.

Old Town also has a free trolley that runs from the King Street metro to the waterfront and back 7 days a week..

Alexandria's DASH bus lines run through Old Town and connect Old Town to the Pentagon’s vast set of bus lines covering the Northern Virginia area.

Parking isn't hard to find either. You have the option to park on the street or in the many parking garage.

BUYING VS RENTING

Living in a neighborhood with a strong sense of history and character is hard to find but it doesn't cost a fortune.  The price range for condos versus a town homes will differ but here is a rough estimate of what you may pay in the urrent market in 2020.

One bedroom for somewhere between $250,000 to $400,000.

Two-bedroom for $450,000 to $800,0000.

Three-bedroom for $900,000 to $1,200,000.

Four-bedrooms maybe $1,200,000 and they go up from there.

This can and will change depending on supply and demand and the season.
